Your files never leave your device
Most online editors upload your file to their server, process it there, and send it back. JustEditFiles works differently: the editing code downloads to your browser, and your browser does all the work on your own phone or computer.
- 1
You pick a file. It is opened from your device into browser memory, not sent anywhere.
- 2
Your browser edits it, using standard technologies like Canvas and WebAssembly, with no AI services.
- 3
You download the result, straight from memory to your device. Close the tab and it’s gone.
Check it yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use any tool. You won’t see your file being uploaded.
Free for everyone
No account, no email, no payment page.
Stays on your device
Files are never uploaded, which saves your mobile data too.
No logo on your file
We never stamp our name on your work. Add your own mark if you want.
Light on data
Small pages; each editor loads only when you open it.
Our story
It started with one wrong letter in a PDF
The night before a deadline, every “free” editor wanted a signup, an upload, a card or a watermark. So we built the tool we needed — one that runs on your own phone, costs nothing and never stamps its name on your work. Every tool since came from someone with a problem and no time.

Is JustEditFiles really free?
Yes. There is no paid plan, no signup and no limits designed to push you into paying. The site will be supported by a small number of ads, which are never placed inside the editor or next to download buttons.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. All processing happens inside your browser on your own device. We don’t have a server that receives files. When you close the tab, the file is gone from memory.
Will you add a watermark to my file?
Never. Your downloads are exactly your work. If you want to protect your images, videos or PDFs, you can add your own watermark — it’s optional and off by default.
Where is “My Watermark” saved?
Only in your browser’s local storage on this device. It isn’t sent to us, and it won’t appear on your other devices. You can delete it at any time with one button.
Do you use AI?
No. Every tool uses traditional, predictable image, video and PDF algorithms. Background removal uses colour similarity, image edges and graph cuts; object removal copies matching texture from elsewhere in your photo (PatchMatch). No AI models, and nothing leaves your device.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, the site is designed for phones first. Big files can be too much for phones with little memory — when that might happen, the tool warns you before it starts instead of failing halfway.
Why do some video files not work?
Video tools use the codecs built into your browser. Different browsers support different formats. We check your file first and only offer options that will actually work.
Do I have to upload my file again for each tool?
No. Once a photo or PDF is open, every related tool is in the bars above and below it. Edits build on each other — crop, then adjust, then compress — with Undo, and you download once at the end.
Can I change the text that is already in my PDF?
Yes. Open the PDF and tap any paragraph. The new text keeps the original size, colour and position, wraps by itself, and the paragraphs below move to make room. It is written in the closest standard PDF font (Helvetica, Times or Courier), and the old words are removed from the file, not just covered. Scanned pages are pictures of text, so their text can’t be edited this way.
Why does a tool say “Coming soon”?
We’re building tools one phase at a time. A tool is only marked ready once it works end to end. Until then, its page explains what it will do — without fake buttons.
